Healthy Lifestyle Ecommerce

About the project
Planeta Huerto is one of Spain's leading ecommerce platforms for healthy and sustainable products. For this UX case study, I selected one of their product pages to analyse how information was presented and identify opportunities to improve usability, clarity and purchase confidence.
Rather than redesigning the brand's visual identity, the goal was to optimise the shopping experience by reducing cognitive load, improving information hierarchy and helping users make faster purchasing decisions.
Workflow
- Research
- Information hierarchy
- Content structure
- Product presentation
- Pricing and pack presentation
- CTA placement
- Trust and credibility elements
- Purchase flow
- UX Audit
- Important information lacked a clear visual hierarchy and was difficult to find.
- Content was not structured to support quick scanning, making it harder for users to identify key product information.
- The product description required excessive scrolling and long text blocks increased cognitive load. Product benefits were not immediately visible.
- Product packs created confusion instead of simplifying the purchase.
- The primary CTA lacked visual prominence.
- Trust building information, including shipping, returns, payment methods and seller details, lacked visibility and consistency throughout the page.
- Repeated product recommendations distracted users and interrupted the purchasing flow.
Before starting the redesign, I analysed the existing product page to understand where users could experience friction during the buying process.
I also compared Planeta Huerto with other ecommerce websites in the wellness sector, including Naturitas, Atida, Herbolario Navarro and Levadura Madre, to identify common UX patterns and best practices. The research focused on different aspects:
Based on the research, I evaluated the existing product page and identified several usability issues affecting the shopping experience. Main issues discovered:
Results
The final design focused on making the most important information visible at a glance while maintaining consistency with Planeta Huerto's existing visual language.
Instead of presenting every improvement separately, I grouped related changes according to the user's journey. This approach helped me focus on how changes in one area would impact the overall experience.
Landing Page
Alongside the product page redesign, I designed a seasonal landing page focused on sustainable Christmas gifts. The goal was to communicate the brand's values, simplify product discovery and guide users towards conversion. The design aimed to:
- Reinforcing Brand Values
To strengthen the brand's identity, I introduced a dedicated section highlighting Planeta Huerto's environmental commitment. Drawing inspiration from the company's sustainability principles, the design reinforces key messages such as carbon neutral shipping, recyclable packaging and support for environmental initiatives, helping users build trust before exploring the products. - Product Categories
The landing page organises gift ideas into clear product categories, making it easier for users to browse according to their interests instead of searching through the entire catalogue. This reduces decision fatigue and encourages product discovery. - Why Choose Planeta Huerto?
A dedicated benefits section highlights the reasons to shop with Planeta Huerto beyond the products themselves. Clear visual cards communicate the value proposition, reinforce credibility and answer common purchase questions before they become objections. - Newsletter & Lead Generation
The page concludes with a newsletter section designed to capture new subscribers without interrupting the shopping experience. Instead of presenting a generic signup form, the message reinforces the brand's mission while offering users exclusive offers and updates, encouraging long term engagement beyond a single purchase.
